SUMMER TIME.

COUNTY CHAMBER'S PROPOSAL,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
WAIPUKURAU, this day.
The Waipukurau Chamber of Commerce has not received a single expression of dissatisfaction with the half-hour of daylight saving which ended last Sunday.
After mentioning this last night, the president of the chamber, Mr. A. C. Holins, went 011 to refer to the present "Indian summer," and said it provided an argument for the extension of the period of summer time.
The chamber passed a resolution, which is to be forwarded to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Internal Affairs, commending for consideration the desirability of providing in future years for extending the period during which daylight saving is observed; in particular from the middle of March till the third Sunday in April; and that preferably the period should commence earlier, say, the first Sunday in October.
