SHOE TORN OFF.
COLLEGE BOY KNOCKED DOWN ACCIDENT IN SYMONDS STREET. A leather shoe was torn completely from one foot and the shirt and pants were almost ripped off a college boy, Leo Place, 15, who was knocked down by a motor car at the East Street tram stop, Symorids Street, early on Sunday aftdvnoon. Eye-witnesses considered the boy had a wonderful escape. He received severe cuts to the face and bruises to the body, but has since made a good recovery. The accident occurred in front of the house of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A;- Place, 124, Symonds Street. When picked up, the boy was suffering J severely from shock.
