SOME GOOD RESULTS.

FOR CROCODILE PICTURE PUZZLE. TITLING COMPETITION FOR NEXT WEEK. Dear Boys and Girls, — One competitor humorously remarked that searching for errors in the crocodile's drawing almost made her cross-eyed, and when I had finished checking over the entries in both sections, I felt that, perhaps, the remark was passed with more feeling than humour. The work on the whole was well done, and not a great many "corrections'' had to be disallowed. Some critics improved upon the crocodile's queer genius in such a way that one or two "howlers" of note were created. What could be better than the correction of one competitor who said that "Me" at the bottom of a picture is grammatically wrong, and should be "I" ? It was the conclusion of another competitor that the man carving the fowl was drunk! In some cases children showed that they are really observant, quite a a number noticing that there were more than twelve sets of numbers on the clock, and yet more realising that the clock was striking without the big hand being at twelve, or at any of the quarter hours. Those who know something of music saw that the keys on the piano were wrongly arranged, and that the music lacked many quite necessary things. In Section A, for the juniors, the work was all very good, and the six prizes of half a crown went to those children who sent in the longest list of allowable corrections. In Section B, the work was similarly well done. A list of 108 corrections was sent in by Marion Ford, but 27 of these were -disallowed, and she had to give up the first place to Charlie Gentil, whose or.gmal list of 99 errors was reduced to 85 allowable corrections. Both competitors must be congratulated on their good work. For to-day arrangements have >5Y been made for a titling competition. The story is such that will present many ideas for good headings, \y^\ and we may expect very heavy entries. For full particulars see "Our Competition Corner." •■.■.■.■..■■■■■■■"■■■" -
