WHANGAREI NEWS.
ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. The Whangarei St. Andrew's Society last evening held a combined annual meeting with the Ingleside Society. Chief Magnus Fraser was in the chair. The annual report showed that the year ended with a credit balance of £17, despite the fact that the society had contributed £30 to the earthquake fund and £5 to relieve a distressed member.
The election of officers resulted:— Chief, Mr. D. A. McLean; chieftain, Mr. Magnus Fraser; council, Messrs. A. M. McLeod, S. C. Crawford, J. A. Inkster and J. Scott: hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. X. Thompson; hon. auditor, Mr. R. R. Rosemann. The ladies present were constituted a ladies' committee, with power to add to their number.
