MEMORIAL LIBRARY.

AUCKLAND GRAMMAR SCHOOL. An appeal is being made to all the old boys of the Auckland Grammar School to help swell the fund for the Diamond Jubilee Library. It is thought that the library will be the more truly one of memory if the sum of money raised to build it is made up of many small sums rather than of a few big cheques. As far as possible it is desired that each old boy should be able to say that he had a hand in the giving of such a memorial to the school. The fund was started off by the donation of £250 by an old boy, and has mounted spasmodically up to some £850. The goal hoped for is £1250. The Minister has invited the executive to make definite proposals on the assumption that a subsidy of £1 for £1 will be given.

. Gifts from those who have passed through the school have been received from all over the world, and help is asked from those near at hand. Eight hundred half-crowns are preferable to 24 £5 notes.
