CHINA HOSTILITIES. Worst War in History of Country Pending. RIVAL FORCES MOBILISE. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright; (Received 11.30 a.m.) SHANGHAI, March 17. According to Japanese messages from Tientsin the war that is threatening promises to be the most serious China has experienced. Reports state that mobilisation en masse is proceeding of the Shansi Kuominchun. Kuangsi reports emphasise that there is a definite movement against Chiang Kai-shek, thoroughly organised compared with previous ventures. The rebel leaders are convinced that previous failures were due to looseness of organisation. They have spent the last month tightening the internal bonds. Consequently it is expected that the worst war ever fought in the history of ; tho republic is About to commence. It is. not expected, however, that major: clashes will occur immediately, because j the contending forces are still some; distance apart, and both are Still j endeavouring to offer sufficient induce*' ment to Chang Sueh-liang to come south of the Great Wall,
