"BUFFALO" HONOUR.

BRO. MARTIN EXALTED. A METEORIC CAREER. A telegraphic communication was received from the annual conference of tho Buffalo Order, held at Christchurch this week, that Bro. J. W. H. Martin, K.0.M., of Devonport, had been accepted for exaltation as R.O.H. The exaltation ceremony will take place at an early date. This will be one of the first exaltation ceremonies conducted in the Auckland province. The distinction is the' highest that can be conferred in the Buffalo order, and therefore members have every reason to be proud that it has been conferred on such a worthy brother. Bro. Kt. Martin has been inundated with messages of congratulations; from the fraternity in all parts of the Dominion.

Bro. Kt. Martin lias had a meteoric career in Buffaloism. He was initiated into R..A.0.8. oil September I', 1921, in the Auckland City Lodge, No. 5, N.Z.C. In November, 1021, lie was raised to tlio second degree, and in the same month founded the Devonport Lodge, No. 7, N.Z.C.; he was the prime mover in getting the floating dispensation held by the Lord Jellicoe Lodge, No. 3010, G. 5.8., M.L.W., while the Chatham Lodge renamed their lodge after the ship. Bro. Martin was raised to the third degree by the Devonport Lodge on January 22, 1927, which is a record .of activity and energetic action for the order. In" 1923 he was presented with a propaganda jewel by Lord Jellicoo Lodge. In 1924 he became assistant secretary of the Colonial Grand Lodge, which he had helped to found- In 1925, Bro. Martin became a trustee of Provincial Grand Lodge, and he was associated with the Auckland Knights Chapter, No. 3. With the exaltation Bro. Martin automatically assumes the Worthy Knight VicePresidency.
