SELECT COMMITTEE. SECONDARY INDUSTRIES INVESTIGATION. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. "The abandonment of the select committee of the House of Representatives on secondary industries has not been decided upon," said the Hon. J. B. "I announced earlier that the circumstances which had arisen would necessitate consideration of the position by Cabinet, and that in the meantime • commencement of wurk would have to be postponed. This has been taken by some papers to mean that the inquiry has been abandoned, but this ie not the case. I expect that Cabinet will decide upon a course of action earlv next week."
