TE AROHA GARDEN PARTY.

In order to secure necessary funds for Sliowround improvements, the -Thames Valley Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association decided to hold a queen carnival on a large scale.

The first function in connection with this took the form of a garden party at Mr. P. M. Storage's "Belle Vue," Mangaiti, on Wednesday. Afternoon tea was handed round by the ladies of Mangaiti and ElstoWj and games were participated in.

During the afternoon Miss Ella Dale, of Elstow, was chosen as the queen candidate for combined districts of Elstow and Mangaiti. The announcement by Mr. F. M. Strange, president of the association, was greeted with cheers.
