ROSKiLi.; West ratepayers.
REPRESENTATION CRITICISED!
Strong fixception wa3 taken to the action of the Mount Eoskill Road Board in not carrying into effect the express wish of the recent commission to Immediately divide the district into wards al a meeting last evening of the ratepayers of Mount Roskill West. It was stated that if action was not taken: by the boards to.become operative for the election of members in May next, then of the total area pf> MouDt Roskill • would have no representation on the! board, would be, comprised solely of members elected by the Greenwood's Corner area.
■ The following resolution was carried unanimously:—"This meeting of Roskill West ratepayers, hereby requests tne Mount Roskill Koad; Board to carry out 4he express > recommendation of the r re-cent-commission, presided over by; Mr. J G.' L. Hewitt, S.M., to divide-the district immediately; into wards for the purpose of representation for the forthcoming election; and that if the board is not Vprepared io. give ' this measure _of justice to the ratepayers, pledges itself to- join .with vthe myers of Eoskill'Southland ,take;.Bci ive sfo)e- to join a-neighbouring authority. v above , resolution -was/moved by the chairman for .the meeting, Mr.;W.
