CRUELTY OF HUSBAND, DECREE nisi granted. (By Telegraph. —Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day, A decree nisi was granted Edith May Thompson against Hugh Thompson in the Supreme Court to-day. Petitioner said her husband ■ had threatened to drown her, shoot her and burn the house down. He had been terribly cruel to her, and at last during }ns absence she ran away with her five children by a former husband. His Honor held that in an undefended case of this kind where it was proved that the husband had been guilty of cruelty and had failed to maintain his wife the respondent could be held guilty of desertion.
