SHADED LIGHTS.
PLEATED LAMPSHADES,
Lampshades, like everything else, have fashions, and the latest".ones are pleated (states an-English writer). They can be in any colour or 'patterned, but they should be of stiff material and drawn up at the top end around' the edge with a cord finished with tassels. I saw a particularly pretty shade of this variety the .other day. It had just come over
from Paris, and was made to match the lamp which it will adorn. The latter is a blue-grey Japanese stand, and the shade is the same soft' colour edged with black ribbon, which has a narrow blue rilbon above it. Another shade I admired, also from Paris, was a. larger one of parchment, painted to represent the sea, and with two large 6hips on it, with their sails put on separately and' bulging outward.
