EXAMINATION SUCCESSES.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.); MORRINSVILLE, Friday. A suggestion that an honour's board should be erected in the school to contain the names of winners of examinations was made by the headmaster, Mr. L. E. Pole, at this week's meeting of the committee of the Morrinsville District High School. .: The headmaster said the school had had a good run of success in the outside examinations at the end of last year, securing 15 matriculation passes as well as two senior and one junipr national scholarships. Consequently, this would be a good time to start an honours' board as . a record of the achievements of pupils. " i : - The committee decided to obtain particulars of the cost and to"**fliscuss' the matter at the next meeting. One member remarked that three-ply would be suitable for the purpose, to wliich the chairman, Mr. E. McGregor, replied with a smile, "But this is not a three-ply school. We want something more' substantial." ' ' ;
~ A vote ,of thanks was accorded.; the headmaster and the staff for their efforts last year in securing such a fine record. The " present roll number of the secondary department was stated to be 82, including 40 new enrolments, and'of the primary department 437, about the same as last year. It was decided to ask the chairman of the Auckland Education Board, .Mr.-A-Burns, to visit x Morrinsville and perforin the official opening of two new clasßrooms built during the holidays.
