THAMES HOSPITALS.
PAEROA BUILDING READY. RESIGNATION OF NURSES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. At the meeting of the Thames Hospital Board yesterday, Mr. W. E. Hale presiding, a report was read from the Director of Hospitals, Dr. R. A. Shore. It stated that the hospital and the maternity annexe generally were in good condition. He recommended the provision of additional ward and kitchen maids. The report was received, and it was agreed that these matters should have attention. Nurses Hughes, Bennett and Jowsey forwarded their resignations. The first two were accepted, but in reference to Nurse Jowsey the board decided to refer her letter back until she had completed the term of her engagement. Mr. P. Brcnan (Paeroa) notified that the Paeroa Hospital building was completed and that the equipment would arrive shortly. He urged the early opening of the hospital. His motion that a committee consisting of the chairman, Mr. C. Kennedy, the secretary and himself be set up to arrange for the opening ceremony was carried.
