One-Day Summer Meeting*. Admiral Bingen's Spreydon Handicap.—Harold Thorpe Wins Midsummer. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. f There is fine weather and a large • attendance for the one-day sumrnei meeting at Addington of the New Zea- ' land Metropolitan Trotting Club. The 3 track is in good order. A Favourite Wins. e s In the Spreydon Handicap, Tramp Crisp and Etta Oolg broke at the start, j. Admiral Bingen, the favourite, led Nelson Ata and Mount Eoyal into the 5 straight and won by three lengths, from Nelson Ata, who beat Mount Royal by two lengths. Boneta was half a length away with Young Carbine close up. f Times, 3.24 1-5, 3.25 1-5, 3.26 4-5. The Juvenile Event. ' Sodium and Reylet broke up at the I start of the Juvenile Handicap. King's > Cup and Erin's Pointer were together r starting on the last lap, but Erin's 3 Pointer drew clear turning into the l back straight: Silverwood was in i second place three furlongs from home, ; but Erin's Pointer went on to wiu by live lengths. Flossie Harvester was six • lengths away, third, with Dusolina, s Desert Rey and Dillon Logan close up. I In the Papanui Handicap Sir Author ; dropped back going along the back i stretch, and three furlongs from home Hector's Own was just clear of Arikitoa, Great Logan and Omaha. Turning for • home, Omaha took second, place, with 1 Great Logan handy. Hector's Own tired in the run home, and Omaha beat Great Logan by three lengths, Hector's Own being four lengths away. Arikitoa was fourth. Times; 4.24 2-5, 4.27 1-5, 4.28 2-5. A Good Finish. / Zenith and Tom Thumb were in charge r at the end of six furlongs in the Midsummer Handicap, and at the mile post , they had Jean McElwyn, Lindbergh, ' Linkman, Harold Thorpe and Harvest Child in close attendance. Liudbergh was out. clear half a mile from home, with Linkman and Harvest Child next, while Jean McElwyn, King Pointer and Harold Thorpe were not far away. Lindbergh led into the straight, where Haroli Thbrpe put in a strong run on the outside. A great finish ended in Harold Thorpe beating Jean McElwyn by 1 half a length. Lindbergh, a similar distance away, was third, while two lengths further back came Linkman, a neck in front of King Pointer. Times, 4.26 1-5, 4.26 2-5, 4.26 3-5. The Cashmere Handicap. In the Caslimore Handicap Ukulele Lady led Nighborn and Lady Fan along the back, while Tonic took fourth place starting on the last round. Nighborn retired at the home turn, and Ukulele Lady won easily by three lengths from Lady Fan, with Tonic three lengths-fur-ther back. Sarsaparilla was fourth, just in front of Etta Cole. Times, 4.35>, 4.39 2-5, 4.88 4-5. /.•' .The Three-year-olds. At the start of the Three-year-old Handicap Real Huon and John Jinks moved off slowly. Royal Silk led Real Huon out of the straight, with Ngingo Ngingo in third place and John Jinks a long way back. Royal Silk easily held his place in front, and beat Ngingo Ngingo by over two lengths'. John Jinks Avas four lengths away, with Real Huon fourth. Times, 3.22 1-5, 3.20 4-5, 3.20. Results:— SPREYDON HANDICAP of 330sovs. One mile and a half. Limit, 3.32.
