A copyright wireless message from the steamer Melville says:—Reports from Deception Island state that continuous attempts to communicate with Sir x -Hubert Wilkins failed. There is a proposal to send a whaler to search for the William Scoresby. The Melville is unable to proved, except in a dire emergency, because the safety of 100 men on the whaling stations depends upon her. The last message from the William Scoresby came eight days ago. LEGALLY DEAD. MAN WHO LEFT FOR N.Z. (Received 12.30 p.m.) VICTORIA (8.C.), February 7. Percy Scott Leggatt, who left for New Zealand 7n 1922, has been , legally declared to be dead.
