Jordan, M.P., was requested to approach, the Minister Oj Justice asking that further inquiry be made into the death of Mr. Walter Lilley, it being alleged that certain important witnesses were not called at the inquest, nor was the scene of the acci-; dent visited by the coroner. I regret that there is nothing I can do to assist you in the matter. It is intended to introduce legislation on this subject next session." The accident took place at Arapuni in November last, when Mr. Lilley met his death through a fall of earth in one cf the penstock tunnels. A verdict of accidental death was returned, the coroner stating that in his opinion all necessary precautions had been taken.
