FLOODS RECEDING.
Communications Being Opened in Queensland. DAMAGE TO BRIDGES. (Received 11.30 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. Flood waters are now receding. The bridge over the Burdekin River should be clear shortly and trains are expected to cross to-day. Thp Herbert River is now five feet under the bridge. Damage, estimated at £10,000, was done to two bridges in the MacKay district, the floods completely wrecking them. Cliarleville is still isolated by water.
