AMERICA'S NEEDLE.
o Another new use of an old word for which we have to thank American hustle is the use of the word needle to describe buildings which are so many times taller than they are broad that at a distance they look like giant spikes projecting from the surface of the earth. A new needle is to be built in New Tork by the City Bank Farmers Trust of 72 storeys, reaching a height of 925 ft. Scarcely 100 ft square, it will be nearly ten times as high as it is broad.
