TE AROHA JOCKEY CLUB.

With £4140 as stakes for sixteen events the club should receive large nominations for the meeting to be held on March 1 and 3, The amount includes a Gold, Cup valued at £50 in the Herries' Memorial Cup and a trophy valued at £25 in the Champion Hack Cup. The course proper, which includes forty chains of new running at the Waihou end, will be in splendid order. The popularity enjoyed by the institution for so many years is justified by its constant efforts to keep in the van of progress, and this year's meeting will again emphasise this fact.. Both the open and hack classes are well catered for this year and the nomination list should be one worthy of the club. Entries close with the secretary, Te Aroha, and Messrs. Blomfield and Co., High Street, Auckland, on Wednesday, February 1, at 5 p.m.
