MR. PENCILPOCKETS.
A little girl can make Mr. Pencilpockets and hang him on the wall by his pigtail for a brother or sister. Ask your mother for a scrap of cloth in any bright coldur, big enough to cut out the front of Mr. Pencilpocket's shirt, which measures . eleven inches across the sleeves, and is seven inches long. Cut a papet pattern of it first, if you need to, copying the picture. Sew up the seams on the shoulder and under the arms, leaving a little hole open at the neck. Hem the sleeved and bottom edge.
For 1 Mr- Pencilpocket's head, cub out of muslin two circles three inched in diameter, sew them together at the edge, leaving an opening through which you stuff wool. Leave a few long stands of wool hanging out for his pigtail, then paint 'his face. Make two long pockets in the front of his tunic, aiid sew them in, ds they are in the picture. A bow at his neck, and he is Waiting to hold your pencils. Another pencil, or ruler, may be piished through his sleeves. Made in black, with a check or spotted tunic and a scarlet bow, he looks very handsome.
