RAILWAY TRANSFER.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MERCER, Wednesday. Mr. Allan Smith, who for the last 12 months has held the position of chief clerk at the MerC6r railway station, has been transferred to the central office in Auckland. Mr. Smith proved a courteous and obliging officcr, and lie made many friends in Mercer. His successor is Mr. Mercer, late of Palmerston North.
