ELEPHANTS AMOK.

JUNGLE JINKS WITH MOTHER AND SON. Two elephants, a mother and her young son, gave Kingston Street goods station, Hull, that jungle feeling recently, when they took charge of the place for many happy minutes, and did a good deal of damage. The elephants, from a circus which had been at Hull, were to be entrained for Bradford. But the younger animal suddenly developed an objection to travelling, and communicated it to his mother. When he eluded the keeper she followed suit, and successively charged three sets of double doors, which she smashed *to matchwood. Several windows were also broken. The elephants forced their way, ipto a joiner's shop and completely wrecked it. After this their fear or anger quickly passed and they were led away—but not to the train. N It was thought necessary to punish them, and -it was decided that they should' walk to Bradford. "They are knowing animals, said one of the keepers, "and by the time they have walked to Bradford they will know what the punishment was for."
