HORSES FOR TRENTHAM. BRIGHT GLOW IN" GOOD FETTLE,. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") • WANGANUI, this day. Mr. Gardner having decided not to take either Star; Area or Just An Idea to Trentham, Eerhden will'be the only member of hi# team seen out there, Ferndenwas allowed to:drop out .'of the Telegraph Handicap, and;will probably have only one race at the meeting on the necond day. Ferndeh is in good' fettle, but in view of the hard racing he had during the holidays it is not deemed advisable to ask' him to do too much. He skipped over half a mile nicely yesterday in 50 2-ss. This morning Auctioneer "and-Pedestal were companions over six .furlongs, They ran the first quarter in 255, the* half in 50 2-ss, and the full distance in 1-17. Pedestal is showing steady improvement. He has been left in both the Highweight and the Apprentices' Plate, The son of Thespian—Eulogy will be a runner in the Highweight if a suitable' rider .can be obtained. * '•. ' : Zareije has come on nicely during tne last week or so, and even if she does not win on the first day at Trentham she should pick up a race during the meeting. With 8.2 she is well treated in the Ruapehu Handicap, as she _is undoubtedly a good filly, and it is hard to pick «n'e to beat her even if she is not at her very best.- . • i Aresus left with Auctioneer, Pedestal and Eaten e for Trentham this morning. The Thespian—Pennon gelding has been left in the' Wellington Stakes. Bright Glow is much-fancied up the coast for-the Wellington Cup. She has been galloping t in pleasing style, her final try out before, leaving for Trentham proving her to be in excellent fettle. Richfield also is in splendid shape, and is expected to run well in the Telegraph Handicap. ' The total stake money to be given aWay at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Trotting Club on April 10 and 12 will, show an increase of £05 on last year. There will be only fourteen events on the.
