THAMES TOURNAMENT.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this clay. Bowlers throughout the Auckland and South. Auckland Centres are looking forward to the forthcoming Thames open tournament, which commences on Tuesday, January 28, and for which entries close on Monday next. The Thames greens, which can accommodate 44 teams, are In splendid order, especially the new green laid down last year, so from a playing point of view there should be no cause for complaint. .The members of the Thames Club, with their president, Mr. F. McCullough, and secretary, Mr. E. Newman, intend to do 'everything possible to give the visiting bowlers a good time. Several Auckland clubs have signified their intention of sending representatives to the tourney. Handsome trophies will be awarded to the winning rink.
