TRACKS VERY SOFT. ASPIRING GOES WELL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A deluge of rain yesterday made the tracks very soft at Trentham this morning, and now the course will take a good deal of drying. The course proper and the trial grass were again in use, the former providing the better going, but both were heavy. Semper Paratus, Disorder, and Full Feather strode out well, and all look in fine fettle. \ Malayan and Joy Bird finished together over four furlongs in 525. Rational 11. and Habit ran an easy four furlongs in 555. They could have done better. Air Laddie strode over six furlongs in 1.23, going freely. Dutch Money was under a pull all the way over t seven furlongs and was anxious to go faster. Tourist strode out while running four fui'longs in 535. St. Melba took I.B} to run five furlongs, while Kali and Arikunui could have improved on 54s for half a mile. Diana's Lad beat Oral over four furlongs in 535. Dolomite, going easily, ran seven'furlongs in 1.42. Blue Metal and Amor did light tasks. Course Proper. Pride was going easily alongside Swiftray over a mile, which took 1.55 1-5. Vertigern beat Glare comfortably over a mile in 1.53 1-5. It was a good effort on Vertigera's part. Panther always held Star Stranger over a mile, run in 1.54, Star Stranger labouring on the soft track. Goblin Market and Jaloux strode down from the five-furlong barrier on the straight course. Concentrate and Rory Mor were _not doing their best over a mile in 1.57. Cimabue sprinted home down the straight. Antique headed Talisker over seven furlongs in 1.41. Gesture was pulling up at the end of a three-furlong dash ahead of Lineage in 40s. Teri was always going better than Atholspear over a mile, run in 1.54. The last seven furlongs- took 1.39. Zephyrus, Appeal, and Valrewa sprinted down the straight. Singleton and Prince of Orange were on terms at the end of seven furlongs in 1.37 .4-5. Cylinder and Lady Pam finished together over five furlongs on the straight course in 1.5. Lord Thomond ran down from the half-mile poet in 505.. Aspiring just beat Ivnightlike over four furlongs in 51s. It was a good gallop on Aspiring's part, for she gave Knightlike a start. Gi'eeian and Ex Dono galloped from the five-furlong post on the straight course in 1.5 3-5. Silver Paper, going smoothly, ran six furlongs in 1.21 —a first-class effort. Sir Limond, with a big weight up, finished better than Tenterden from tb e five-furlong post on the straight course in 1.6}, with Appledore several lengths back. After Breakfast. Aston beat Gipsy Fate over five furlongs on the course proper in 1.4}. On tho trial grass Lucky Light beat Latin Quarter over a mile in 1.50. Masterton and High Strung galloped four furlongs in 535, and Banket covered a similar distance in 52}. Push, Footpad, Zetes, Money Mint,Lady Gay and Assemble did threequarter pace work. Duellona ran a solid six furlong 3.
