A RAILWAY ENGINE THAT FLYS.

Something very new in the way of railway engines has just been tried at Cologne. • It is a locomotive with an aeroplane propeller at each end, driven by oil motors, and it looks very like an armoured car. The trials , were carried out on a railway line in Hanover, and the engine ran at much the same speed as a steajn locomotive of similar horsepower. Tho new locomotive really flies, skimming over the railway lines, which merely guide its path.
