THE TRIUMPH OF MIND.
"There is nothing in science which finally contradicts religious faith, but also there are tendencies to be detected in the thought in these days which are in support of it. The criticism of scientific method which has been xindertaken of recent years has led to an overhauling of the whole theory of knowledge and of the relation of the mind to the reality out of which it lias sprung and which it tries to understand. The result has been a marked tendency in scientific and philosophic thought to instal mind as the dominant factor in reality. To give life and mind to a dominant place in the interpretation of the world is, of course, still to oe a long way off from religious faith in general, and even farther off from Christian faith in particular, but there is no question it is to move a great deal nearer to these positions than tho older scientific and philosophic theories which endeavoured to banish life and mind from the ultimates of the Universe altogether."—The Rev. Herbert H. Farmer, M.A., in "Experience of God —a .Brief Inquiry into the Grounds of Christian Conviction."
