When stumps were drawn yesterday, Wellington had 342 run 3 for eight wickets. To-day Wellington decla-pd and sent Auckland in, in the hope of. achieving an, innings victory. However, Auckland, batted well, and Wellington had to again bat,to get the necessary runs to win. Auckland's first innings yielded 98, and the second innings 328 . (Everson 17, Angus 37, Bryerley 18, Newdick 24, Cowie.72, Macindoe 07, Wilkinson not out 52). Wellington had to .secure 92 in the second innings to win.
