SPEEDWAY THRILLS.
MEETING AT WESTERN SPRINGS,
Wet weather forced the management of the Western Springs Stadium to postpone their cinder track motor cycle meeting which was set down for Boxing night. The programme will now* be run off tomorrow evening when both Australian and Auckland stars will be seen in action.
Billy Sticpcwich, who recently broke all records at Monica Park, Christchureh, and who gave the crowd a taste of hU broaclsiding capabilities last Saturday, will again provide thrills, while he will have as a worthy opponent in a match race the other Aussie, Les Lawrence, a brilliant exponent who has arrived with a great reputation. Besides this pair there will be the Auckland stars, Herbert, Mattson,,Allen, Bray, Garmson and others to provide plenty of first class competition. The track has improved a good deal during the week, and is now much faster, so that it is expected that all previous records will be broken. As an additional attraction a bicycle event will be staged, the cyclist being paced by a motor bike on the concrete circuit.
