AT TAURANGA.
IDEAL REGATTA CONDITIONS. THE EARLY RESULTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) TAURANGA, this day. The Tauranga regatta is being held to-dav under ideal weather conditions. There is a steady westerly off the shore, giving smooth water for the vowing, outboard, and swimming races. Ihe flagship s.s. Rangitoto brought visitors from Auckland, mostly rowing men. Trains from Taneatua, Matata and Ie Puke were well filled with excursionists, as -was a train from Hamilton and all stations en route. ■■ The 14-footer Louis came all the way from Point Chevalier by motor lorry to compete in the 14-footcrs' race. The Strand, the two wharves, and the Monmouth redoubt are -well filled with-spec-tators. There were only a few rowing events before noon. Following arc results: — Maiden Pair Oars.—After a good race over smooth water, Hamilton won by one and a half lengths from Auckland, with Tauranga third, one and a half lengths, aV Youtlis' in Foiirs!—North Shore won, two and a half lengths ahead of Hamilton, who beat Waitemata by two lengths.
