SHANGHAI, December 22.

A number of reports indicate that the Eev. Mr. Pike, an Australian, of the China Inland Mission, who was carried off from Kuiechow some months ago, was murdered by his captors.

The Eev. Mr. Crofts, a member of the same mission, who is investigating the case, believes that Mr. Pike was shot in the back, stripped of his clothing and thrown into a river, also that his horse and saddle were stolen.
