HAMILTON WATER SUPPLY.
THE NEW RESERVOIR.
A TENDER ACCEPTED.
Fifteen tenders were received by the Hamilton Borough Council last evening for the construction of a reservoir with a capacity of 2,500,000 gallons. The lowest tender, that of Messrs. McFadden and Sons, of Wellington, for £21,000, was accepted. The next lowest tender, that of Mr. W. B. Young, of Hamilton, was £21,000. The borough engineer was authorised to order the necessary ironwork as soon as the contract was signed. The reservoir, which is to be constructed in reinforced concrete and welded iron, will be of a circular type, averaging 80ft in diameter and 90ft in height. Tenders were also received for the erection of a pumping station, the lowest tender, that of Mr. H. B. Martin, oi Hamilton, £1168, being accepted.
