Sir. A. M. Samuel, M.P. for Thames, who has been ordered to take a rest after his recent illness, is spending the next six weeks in the Rotorua district.

Colonel M. Aldred, of Waiuku, officer commanding the First New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade, has been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers' Decoration and the Colonial Au&iliary Forces' Lon» Service Medal.
