PERSONAL.
Sir James Gunson was a passenger from the South by the Limited express this morning. Mr. L. Hay (Sydney), Mr. G. Smerle (Kaihere), Mr. J. Symonds (Wellington) are at the Commercial Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. D. Twigg (Te Puke), Mr. R. F. McNiven (Sydney), Mr. J. Y. Allan (Christchurch) are at the Central Hotel. Arrivals at thS Grand Hotel are: Mr. T. Bishop, Mr. 0. Freeth, Mr. and Mrs. Hussey (Wanganui), Mr. J. Cornaga (Sydney). The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coates arrived in Auckland from Dargaville last evening. They are at the Grand Hotel. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. J. W. Macdonald, the Public Trustee, arrived this morning from Wellington, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. G. T. Coverdale, Mr. B. R. Doughty, Mr. E. T. Hume (Wairarapa), Mr. 0. Josephson (Wellington) are at Hotel Cargen. The Hon. Colonel G. J. Smith, M.L.C., was a passenger to Auckland from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. A. M. Williams, a New Zealand journalist, and now assistant news editor of the "Rand Daily Mail," Johannesburg, is visiting Auckland. Major General Young, general officer commanding the New Zealand military forces, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. Mr. George Baildon, Mayor of Auckland, returned from Wellington by this morning's Limited express, after having attended a meeting of the Municipal Association. The Hon. Sir George Fowlds, chairman of the Council of the Massey Memorial College, who attended the official opening yesterday at Palmerston North, returned to Auckland by the Limited express this morning.
