CITY MISSION.
ASSISTANT IN AUCKLAND. REV. G. E. MORETON APPOXNTED. WELL-KNOWN SOCIAL WORKER. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. The Rev. G. E. Moreton lifts accepted a position in the Auckland Diocese as prison chaplain and assistant city missioner on the staff of the Auckland City Mission. During the past years Sir. Moreton has taken a prominent part in the social work of D'unedin, acd he has also acted as chaplain of the Anglican Memorial Home for Boys. During the disastrous floods of 1923 and this year he was in charge of the relief depot work. He recently returned from a tour abroad with the Boy Scouts who attended the Imperial jamboree. The Bishop of Dunedin has accepted Mr. Moreton'e resignation. Mr. Moreton is expected to arrive about the end of February or beginning of March next year, as associate to the Rev. Jasper Calder, to fill the vacancy caused by the removal of the Rev. Charles Chandler to Sydney, which takes place shortly.
