FISHERMAN DROWNED.
(By Telegraph.—Proas Association.) HOKITIKA, this day,
George Tainui, a Maori, was drowned in Ahaura River last evening while engaged dragging a net for flounders. His body was recovered this morning. He was a single man, aged 40 years.
