THAT AEROPLANE.
(Brian Keith Walsh, aged 12.) " Tom! Where are you ? Come •to'-y'qur dinner at once." ; "Ail right, coming, mum." f "Timejyou did, too," cried his father, as TOm Was hustled in to dinner, followed.'by, an exasperated mother. / " That aeroplane will have to be locked up," said Mr. Minchin severely. "Not a stick cf wood of wood^ chopped, while you are wasting your time with that model aeroplane, saying it is going to fly. I'll have no more to say about it." With thftt he stamped out of the room. "That aeroplane," he muttered. A week' afterwards it was raining. Tom was putting th.- finishing touches to his model, "Now to fly it," he cried. Winding it up he let go. It flew round t.h6 room once; then it-dashed straight for Mrs. Minchin's beautiful vase on the mantelpiece. "IJelp! " screamed Tom, and dashed forward. He managed to push the model aside, but tripped, his hands shot out, and he pushed the vase over. It crashed to the ground and broke into.bits. At thfit moment his mother came in. "Up to bed with you," she cried. "That aeroplane!" muttered Tom.
