AUCKLAND'S SEWAGE.
PROPOSAL FOR DISPOSAL.
GLASGOW'S SCHEME ADVOCATED.
"It would pay the Auckland Harbour Board, and the City Council, to send someone to Glasgow to make inquiries into that city's sewerage," declared Mr. A. M. Laing, a ihember of the Auckland Harbour Board, who returned from a seven months' tour by the Maunganui this morning. ° "It would dispose of our sewage in such a manner that instead of its beinoa menace it would be made useful. In Glasgow the city's refuse is used for manure. I, went through the works; it was one of the things that interested me most on my tour. I had always wondered how a big city disposed of its refuse, but could never find out definitely. There was absolutely no odour, and special trains were taking the treated manure to country districts."
