ROUND OF SIGHTS.
AMERICAN TOURISTS
IMPRESSIONS OF ROTORUA. Back in Auckland after viewing the wonders of Rotorua, a party of about 150 tourists on the Matson liner Malolo, availed themselves of the bright sunshine to-day to make a round of the sights of the city and suburbs. A fleet of over 25 cars was commissioned for the purpose. A second party is now visiting the thermal regions, and will arrive back in Auckland this evening. The Americans who are now in the city are proudly displaying evidence of the excursion to Rotorua, miniature pois, red, white and blue in colour, dangling from the lapels of their coats. They were greatly impressed with the sights they saw, and, while pointing out that Rotorua is not as vast in area as their famous Yellowstone Park, admit it is equally as beautiful and awe-inspir-ing. The visitors were delighted with the Maoris, who sang and danced for them, and made their stay in their midst very enjoyable. To-day a luncheon was given on board the Malolo, and representatives of New Zealand business houses will be given an opportunity of meeting the tourists. The huge Matson liner, which is berthed at Queen's wharf, yesterday proved a great attraction for many Aucklanders. Curious holders of gangway passes availed themselves of inspecting the vessel and its luxurious appointments, even the navigating bridge and chart rooms not being immune from their scrutiny.
