MINING.
ALEXANDER MINES,
The following telegram has been received from the Alexander Mines: — Clean up for November: 289 tons crushed for 2630z lldwt melted gold. Cyanide plant, 181 tons sand worked for 105oz ' lldwt bullion. Estimated value £1315.
MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Golden Age.—The mine manager reports that the drive on Fox's leader has been extended Sft for the week. The leader is Oft wide and a good deal of chrome and pyrites has been seen in the ore during the week. A good class of country is being met with. Lucky Shot.—The mine manager reports that in the stopes north of No. 2 winze at the intermediate level the leading stope has besn carried along a furtlier distance of 12ft. The reef is lOin wide and strong colours of gold have been seen at each breaking down. In the drive south the reef still maintains its size of 2ft and is very heavily mineralised ore, showing colours of gold. The bat- , tery starts crushing on December 2.
