A. CRAIG BEATS BRENTNELL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, this day. There was a good attendance in the Empire Theatre last evening at the local Young Men's Institute's tuird amateur boxing tournament. The chief bout of the evening was between Allan Craig (Te Awamutu) and Brentnell (of Auckland). Brcutnell was unlucky in striking Craig right at the top of his form, and although he put up a. game light Craig was awarded the decision on a technical knockout in the fourth round. Brentiiell was awarded a special trophy for his game exhibition. Jlr. Frank Burns, of Auckland, was referee, and all his decisions met with approval.
Following are tse results: — Paper-weights.—Koberts (To Awamutu) lost to White (Te Awamutu).
J. Horan, 10.4 (Te Awamutu) beat Kennerley, 10.iJ (Te Awamutu). Horan won every round, and is a vastly improved lad, who will be heard of in the best company later on.
