GREAT DAIRYING SEASON.
TEN THOUSAND TONS LAST YEAR. (By, Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MORRINSVILLE, this day. It has been computed that within a radius of 18 miles of Morrinsville there are upwards of 80.000 dairy cows, 1000 horses, 20,000 sheep, in addition to | heifers, calves and pigs. The output of butter and cheese in this area last season was nearly 10,000 tons. Present indications point to another record-breaking season. Dairy cows are now milking exceptionally well and are in excellent condition, while the returns of the majority of farmers are ahead of those of previous seasons. On many farms feed is going to waste, and the recent rains have toned the grass up to a nutritive value. Unless there is a dry spell after Christmas the returns for I this season should prove very gratifying.
