MURDER HORROR

"THE RIPPER" SCARE. Body Found Where Indicated On Mysterious Plan. CRIMINAL EXPERTS BAFFLED. (United p!a.—Electric Telegraph-Copyright) (Received 2 p.m.) 4 BERLIN, November 15. The horror of the "Jack the Ripper" scare reached its climax in the discovery of the body of Maria Habb, missing since August 11 in the very area indicated in the mystery plan which the murderer sent to a newspaper office. Diggers in the afternoon found the body of the servant girl for which they have been searching for three months within a few feet of the place where the mutilated body of a child, was found on Saturday. Thirty criminal experts are now seekin" to fathom the mystery, but are no nearer the clue than at the beginning of the horrors. A conference of police chiefs at Dusseldorf rejected the theory that the murderer who is terrifying the inhabitants is a woman. Medical experts confirmed the original belief that the peculiar atrociousness of the murders pointed to a man. The whole of Germany isi now aroused. Tho Prussian Ministry of the Interior has offered a reward of £800 for the miscreant, alive or dead. With characteristic effrontery the "Ripper" again .sent a letter to a Dusseldorf newspaper, in which he said: "Farewell, Dusseldorf. You will never get me. But go on digging." The letter was apparently posted on the frontier between Belgium and Germany. Another discovery yesterday was a piece of paper pinned to a tree near the scene of the digging, bearing a great letter P, through which runs a cross and an arrow. The paper is identical with that used in the murderer's letters.
