OPIUM PROSECUTIONS.
RAID ON CHINESE LAUNDRY.

WELLINGTON, this day.
Detectives yesterday raided a Chinese laundry in Riddiford Street, and to-day the occupier, by name Man Poy, was fined £50 for permitting his premises to be used for smoking opium. A young Chinaman was fined £12 10/ for smoking opium. These are the minimum penalties.
