SALVATION ARMY TRAINING FOR « C.O.'S"
BRIGADIER INCREDULOUS,
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' CHRISTCHURCH, this day. "A wild cat scheme! Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that our organisation could offer anything in the way of training," said Brigadier F. W. Burton, divisional commander for the Salvation Army in Canterbury and Westland, when referring to a telegram from Wellington stating that the Defence Department had almost completed arrangements tor alternative ser vice for those objecting to military training on conscientious grounds. It was probable, it was stated, that such service would be with the Salvation Army.
"There is nothing in our organisation to meet the needs of the case, and I consider the telegram to be a make-up," said the brigadier.
