WHAKATANE NEWS.

At the monthly meeting of the Whakatane School Committee it was reported that the secretary had notified the Opouriao, Edgecumbe, Awaken, Thornton, Waimana and Otakiri School Committees that a conference would be held in the Whakatane School on the evening of Tuesday, November 12, to consider whether it is

desirable to make application to have a dental clinic established in Whakatane. A considerable amount of information on the subject of dental clinics will be available at the meeting. Estimates were received from Mr. W. Sullivan as to the cost of the material for constructing three tennis and basketball courts for the school. A committee was appointed to report on the cost.
