BLACKBALL MINE DISPUTE.
NON-UNIONIST DRIVERS. REPLACEMENT DEMANDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, this day. The Blackball coal mine is still idle. The original trouble arose over two non-unionist enginedrivers. It was thought yesterday, when : the union, by a small majority, voted to resume work on condition that the men joined up, that'the disagreement would end. The union .had fixed a time limit within which the two men were to rejoin and pay their dues, but the payment was not made within that time. The mine manager interviewed the secretary of the union on Tuesday and said he had nnt been able to get into touch with one of the two men. Yesterday morning the manager again called on the union secretary. At a meeting yesterday' the members of the union decided to insist on their original demand, that the two men be replaced ae enginedrivers by others acceptable to the union. - •
