YOUNG MAN FOUND SHOT.
BODY LYING IN PADDOCK. OPEN VERDICT RETURNED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) WAIUKU, Wednesday. Wesley George Ivan Ridgley, aged 21 years, was found dead this morning in a small paddock about 300 yds from his father's homestead at Pukeowarc. There was a wound in his temple and a discharged shotgun was nearby. After finishing milking last evening Ridgley took his gun, saying he was going to shoot rabbits. He did not return, and his father and others spent the night searching for him. At the inquest at Waiuku to-day it was stated that Ridgley appeared quite cheerful when he set out on his shooting expedition. Ho had not been feeling well and had visited a doctor in Waiukti that morning, but the doctor-had found nothing seriously wrong with him and had prescribed a tonic. The corners Mr, A. M. Barriball, found that death was caused by a wound from the gun carried by Ridgley, there not being sufficient evidence to show whether the gun had been accidentally or intentionally discharged.
