A clause in the Local Legislation Bill conferring borrowing power on the Henderson Town Board has been reconstructed before the Legislative Council, and was passed in its new form hy both Houses to-day. The board is authorised to borrow £5013 6/9 in lieu of £2890 previously authorised to be raised. The money to be applied for the purpose of paying an excess of estimate towards the cost of the main highway, also interest on the amount owing.
